Environmental Considerations

Most grow lights require reflectors, fans, yearly bulb changes and heat producing bulbs that require extensive cooling systems, consuming even more energy and more profits. The LED UFO does not. LED UFO Concept

The LED UFO is a simple concept - it uses highly efficient 1 watt LEDs, uses only the red and blue spectrums required for photosynthesis, and uses wide angle directional bulbs. The 1 watt LED is one of the most efficient light sources in the world (lumens per watt). By using only the spectrum required, no light is wasted.

The spectrum of light that it emits is tailored to the absorption spectrum of chlorophyll, caroten, phycoerythrin and phycocyanin, so no light is wasted in the spectrum that plants do not use, such as green light. Plus, the directional LEDs ensure 100% of the light points downward without the use of reflective materials to direct the light. In our latest 2d Generation Design, not only is it more powerful over the 1st Generation of BRIDELUX/CREE Chipsets, which has been able to boost the RED spectrum from 630 to 660nm and the BLUE Spectrum from 430 to 461.7nm, Thus providing more intensity directly at your garden.

The LED UFO Generation 2 has eliminated the need for the ballast. with Three (3) Kinetically used fans, and a temperature control system that will shut the LED off if it makes it to a critical temperature.. While the ballast (was not really a ballast but more of a place to store the Circuit Arrays, the developers were able to provide and produce even higher intensity in one self-contained unit.

The LED grow light we offer is probably the one we are most excited about. The LED UFO replaces both MH and HPS lights. In side-by-side testing it outperforms 400W lights, just slightly under performs 600W Lights. The heat it generates is negligible. The bulbs themselves at the hottest temperature in testing (in a 90 degree room) was 104 degrees - of the LED's themselves using a laser thermometer. In a 3' x 3' x 5' tall cabinet the ambient temperature will be raised only 1-3 degrees.

The pricing is slightly higher - but it is all that is needed - you don't need air cooled reflectors or large centrifugal fans. Also - no bulb changes with 80,000-100,000 hour bulb lives (well over 10 years). In addition you are consuming only 80 watts of power - so it will pay it's price off many times over in energy savings alone, in your first 2 Cycles.

Coverage:

The 3'x3' area is a suggestion based upon its use as a primary lighting source. As you have probably experienced, light movers increase coverage, however yield is somewhat fixed to photon output - so for instance if you have a 400W light over a fixed 2.5' x 2.5' area vs. a light mover covered 5' x 2.5' area - your yield will be very close to the same.
